Long enough
To fit all the sorrow
And pain

For nothing

A man whole
And spit out pieces
Of the shell
That used to be him
Yet still
At the end of the day
I find hope in the night
The darkness
Pregnant with light
And the promise of morning
A new begining
I wish you knew
How much it hurts
How much breathing
Has become a chore
How much each
Inhaled breath
Scrapes on the walls
Of my airways
To reach my lungs
And how each
Breath out is relief....
I always knew
We were gonna go out
In a ball of fire
I never counted
On us being
Engulfed by the flames
Leaving us both
With scars
That would never heal
She tip toes
Ever so gently on his heart
Breathing life
Into his art
Even though
They are worlds apart
He scribbles like a mad man
Hoping the words in his poems
Will bridge the gap
Between their worlds
Violently thrusting them
Into each others arms
He tried the gently approach
And the gravity
From each ones world
Pulled them back
As if to say
This is where
They should stay
She is better
At pretending
Than he is
And accepts this fate
While he still writes

Clogging airways

Appetite inhibiting
Tear jerking

But still inspiring
