I wrote a poem
And only
When I was finished
Did I realise
I wrote it
For you

2014/01/19Talking
I don't talk anymore
Talking has become a chore
The words, too heavey
For the air in my lungs to carry
Each word
Making it hard
To breathe

Untitled 2014/01/09
There are times
when you have to write
Not because you are inspired
But because
It's the only thing
That makes sense
The only thing
That keeps
you
sane...

Sometimes
Sometimes things
Don't make sense
There isn't always an explanation
For why certain things happen
To certain people
Sometimes things just happen
And to keep sane
Sometimes you have
To accept that
Without understanding why
Without questioning
The reason
For the moment
In lapse of judgement
But acknowlwedging it happened
"Why" won't heal the wound
It won't erase the scar
Nor the moment from memory
Sometimes there isn't an answer
There just isn't......

Hope
Even in the
Darkest of hours
There is
Minutes of hope
Seconds of light
So bright
The darkness
Ceases to exist
Self-Preservation
Love poems
Written on the palm
Of my hand
Blurred out
By childish handstands
On wet surfaces
Cartwheels leaving me
On my back
Staring at the roof
The floor
As my cape
Thinking I'm heroic
When I failed
To save me
From
Myself

Arrows
Darkness seems to call
In the shadows
Of the baby angel's arrow
Where reality
Plays cruel tricks
On those barely alive
Pulling at the arrows
Sticking out of their chests
Making it hard
To breath....

They say he lost himself
In a bottle
So each time I see him
I buy him one
Hoping that
He can drink
Enough of himself back
For me to recognise him
Because The shell
I see before me
Is not the man
I used to call
my Uncle

Naledi
It might be a bit overdue...but better late than never. A little over a month ago on the 17th of June 2013,we were again blessed with the birth of life. Naledi, my God daughter was born and this one is for all of them
To life we give thanks
Our hands
Turned soft
Strong hearts
Made gentle
Hard men
Turned by fragile faces
That light up
At the sound
Of our voices
And every word they utter
A feather
That tickles our hearts
And in their eyes
I ser hope
Like stars
That twinkle in the sky......
